Introduction

Acculis develops augmented reality and computer vision software that enables more efficient building information modeling (BIM) workflows and collaboration between various stakeholders for construction projects.

The Product

Acculis offers a cloud-based software called Acculis Pinpoint that enables efficient construction project management. Acculis is a single collaborative web-based platform that allows project teams to easily access 3D models on any internet-enabled device without any additional supporting hardware or software.

The platform enables quality control managers for construction projects to reduce wasted efforts and correctional costs through an issue tracking feature. Project stakeholders can visually track the resolution of issues or clashes by centralizing all the data on a single interface, thus eliminating the need to use multiple applications to communicate and share data. In addition, users can add tags to categorize each issue and attach supporting documents and images for each issue to make information transparent and easily accessible during meetings.

The Acculis platform offers also native integrations to help project teams streamline their use of tools like Revit and Navisworks and integrate their existing data smoothly.

Origin and Founding Team

Acculis was founded by Ada Slusarczyk, Christopher Lysiuk, Darren Yee, and Nicholas Molinski in 2016.

Speaking about what led the team to build the company, Darren Yee, co-founder and CEO of Acculis, said in an interview with CIOReview in 2018, “The current construction methods won’t be able to handle such an increase in the product delivery intervals due to a multitude of reasons.”

Realizing the need for efficient workflow management that could help organizations sustain fast-paced product deliveries, the team developed the Acculis platform to enable companies to improve collaboration and operational efficiency.

During the same interview, Christopher Lysiuk, co-founder and COO of Acculis, also shared, “We wanted to create a platform that democratized workflow. Anyone using Acculis can share a link and instantly provide the right information to an employee or contractor without the hassle of having to download an app.”

Performance and Trends

Acculis was one of the companies chosen for the Techstars NYC 2018 cohort and received $120k worth of funding as a part of the accelerator program.
Since 2018, the company has worked on several pilot projects, including a successfully concluded project with a client in Boston.
