Brian is the founder and CEO of Gradient X, the most advanced programmatic marketing platform for mobile. He started the company in March of 2012 and sold it to Singtel in September 2013. For the seven years prior to founding Gradient X, Brian was one of the first 10 employees, and served on the executive team at Adconion Media Group. During his tenure, the company achieved explosive growth, expanding to over 26 offices in 18 countries and over 800 employees, serving as CSO.
At the age of three Nicolas Dupont began his intrigue in Electric and Computer Engineering. Now at fourteen, Nicolas is the sole inventor and founder of Cyborg Industries. Nicolas Dupont is about to unleash new and groundbreaking technologies that offer instantaneous data transfer, limitless data compression, and un-hackable encryption algorithms, that will revolutionize the industry in an unprecedented manner.
William Hsu is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of MuckerLab, a pioneering Los Angeles-based accelerator that builds, launches and raises financing for category-leading startups. William has spent his career as both a startup entrepreneur as well as a senior executive of a Fortune 100 company. William has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Terman School of Engineering at Stanford University and a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Teal leads StumbleUpon’s advertising solutions group, developing and managing strategic partnerships with leading brands, agencies and publishers. In addition she manages corporate marketing at StumbleUpon include branding, customer acquisition and research. She joins StumbleUpon from Digitas (Publicis Groupe), a full service advertising agency, where she was a Global Vice President. Teal graduated from the University of Washington.
Currently, Oded Noy is the co-founder at TargetClose, a co-founder of the accelerator, Amplify.LA and Chairman for the CTO Forum/LA chapter. Previously, he has secured five patents (and one more is pending), have been awarded the winner of the 2006 InfoWorld Most Innovative IT Project Zag(TrueCar) SOA initiative, and have served as a fighter pilot in the Israeli air force. Oded finds his inspiration as a mentor, a serial tech entrepreneur, and a founder of tech companies.
Ben Widhelm is the CTO of Burstly, the leading provider of tools to empower mobile app developers. Burstly offers a suite of products to optimize every phase of the mobile app lifecycle. Prior to joining Burstly, Ben was involved with several southern California based ad-tech, cloud-computing, and gaming startups as an operator, investor, and advisor for the past 15 years, including stints with iWin, TrafficMarketplace, ElephantDrive, and Vivendi Universal.
Mona is the founder & CEO of JOOR— the leading online global marketplace for wholesale buying that directly connects brands and retailers. Mona’s experience as a brand consultant for CHANEL and Elie Tahari and within buying departments for global retailers inspired her to create JOOR to solve some of the incredible challenges and time constraints that she came across during her career. Since launching JOOR in 2010, she has grown the company to a 30-person team serving over 600 fashion brands and 40,000 retailers worldwide.
Sarah Boyd is the founder and ‘dot connector’ at Simply Stylist. A Fashion Merchandising graduate from Philadelphia University, Sarah fell in love with the world of fashion at an early age and pursued her interest throughout college and beyond. Soon after she completed her degree, Sarah discovered a need unmet by other publicists and professionals in the area; the need to connect stylists dressing their celebrity clients with desirable brands, all the while giving them the press and recognition they deserve. Sarah launched Simply Inc. in 2009.
Kyla Brennan is the Founder & CEO of HelloSociety, a Pinterest marketing and technology firm, focused on developing a natural bridge for marketers using Pinterest. Kyla’s first foray into social media came during her tenure at MySpace where she quickly became a believer in the power of marketing through social influencers. She developed a structure around those beliefs and launched HelloSociety in 2012 to tap into Pinterest’s rapid rise to a leading social network.
Joaquín Ayuso de Paul is the founder and CEO of Kuapay, a global mobile payment solution that revolutionizes the payment experience between the merchant and consumer. Kuapay has pioneered the highest level of security in mobile payments with an all-in-one digital wallet that combines credit cards, reward cards, coupons, and loyalty programs. Headquartered in Santa Monica, CA, Kuapay is live and rapidly expanding in New York, Santiago de Chile and Madrid. Joaquín graduated from ICAI, Spain, with a degree in Computer Science.
Kristi Ross is the CEO and President of dough, a financial technology content aggregator,and the fastest growing online financial network. Previously, Ms. Ross was the CFO of thinkorswim where she led numerous mergers, acquisitions and integration. Thinkorswim was sold to TD Ameritrade in 2009. Prior to that Ms. Ross worked with Automated Trading Desk Specialists and the Chicago Stock Exchange. She is also a certified public accountant and has been in the trading business for more than 20 years.
James Borow is the Co-Founder and CEO of SHIFT, the real-time marketing platform of choice for 10 of the top 20 global advertisers. SHIFT empowers brands and agencies to manage, advertise and analyze their marketing initiatives in real-time and is one of just five companies in the world to earn Facebook’s sPMD and Twitter’s Ads API distinctions. . Prior to founding SHIFT, James co-founded GirlsGuideTo, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
Kevin Doohan is EVP, marketing at Machinima, the leading video entertainment network for young men. In this role, Doohan oversees the marketing function including brand marketing, public relations, audience development, trade and partner marketing, and research. Doohan’s team at Machinima develops strategy and programs that connect with and attract advertiser and consumer audiences. Kevin holds an MBA in Marketing from Northwestern University.
Max Engel is currently the VP of Product for SpinMedia, where he leads the team of product managers and UI/UX designers responsible for all music and celebrity sites that collectively reach 40MM unique visitors a month. He also oversees the development and architecture of new content management publishing platform to power all sites in their portfolio. In addition, he manages a cross-functional “Labs” team that incubates new properties.
Jeff Feldman leads social strategy at Adobe, the global leader in digital marketing and digital media solutions, where he manages Adobe’s relationships with its social partners and is responsible for ensuring Adobe Social’s access across the ecosystem. Jeff joined Adobe via its acquisition of Context Optional, a social media management platform, where he served as Vice President of Strategy and spearheaded many of the company’s market facing operations.
Francesca is the founder and CEO of Live the Look, a new e-commerce platform that combines what you have, what you love and what you want in one digital experience. She was an integral member of the Twitter marketing team and the first advertiser facing representative for the launch of Promoted Products. She also executed key programs across the fashion vertical and worked with top brands/designers, media and organizations including CFDA, Marc Jacobs, Vogue and Gilt.
Currently the CEO of Entertainment Media Partners, he is providing informed guidance, dealmaking intelligence and relevant connections for corporations and prestige media companies to garner greater success in the marketplace. He is also the publisher of the popular digital magazine Cultural Weekly. Adam is the former President of National Geographic Films, a past Senior VP at Disney, and a long time indie producer.
Severin oversees EdgeCast’s brand marketing. He is responsible for content production and distribution, as well as EdgeCast’s partnership marketing program (which includes companies such as Google, Atlantic Media, and JustFab). Prior to EdgeCast, Severin was living in Asia, managing corporate communications for his favorite airline, Lufthansa. He’s a proud EdgeCast Movember team member. He holds a Masters degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Macala Wright is a writer, strategist, and storyteller. She merges her passion for storytelling and narrative with her deep understanding of technology and strategy to help bring innovative ideas, products, and programs to life. Interested in the tools and platforms that society uses to communicate culture, her writing and studies explore how people can become better communicators in order to shape their futures, share their ideas, and create a better world to live in.
19-year-old Kevin Wu is the owner of the highly popular Youtube channel “KevJumba.” Wu started posting comedy videos on Youtube during his Junior year in High School when he was inspired by the stand-up performances of his idol, Dave Chapelle. He has received sponsorships from JCPenney and T-Mobile (among others), and starred in an online series for HBO. Between both his channels, Wu has garnered over 1,300,000 subscribers and 100,000,000 views on Youtube.
Jenova Chen a.k.a. Xinghan Chen or 陈星汉is the designer of the award-winning games Cloud, flOw, Flower, and most recently Journey. After earning a bachelor’s in computer science in his hometown of Shanghai, Chen moved to Los Angeles, where he got a master’s degree in the founding class of University of Southern California’s Interactive Media and Games Division. Following school, he founded thatgamecompany with fellow graduates, where he remains its Founder and Creative Director.
Matt Nutt is the vice president of business development and operations at Cie Games, a leading developer and publisher of mobile and social games, including Racing Rivals and Car Town Streets on mobile, as well as Car Town on Facebook. In his role, Matt oversees business development, marketing and business intelligence while leading policies and business objectives development for Cie Games’ growing games portfolio.
Jason Xu is the CEO of Battlefy, the explosive eSports startup that is powering the world of competitive video gaming leagues. Backed by gaming and media industry veteran executives, Battlefy is the backbone for the next evolution of sports that has already trumped baseball and hockey in playership and viewership. Prior to Battlefy, Jason was an investment analyst, hacker, and semi-pro gamer. He has a double major in Finance and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser.
Erik is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of MuckerLab. Prior to founding MuckerLab, Erik was most recently at Harrison Metal Capital where he helped lead one of the most successful seed-stage venture capital firms in Silicon Valley. Since 2008, Harrison Metal has invested in over 40 companies, including Aardvark (GOOG), DocVerse (GOOG), Heroku (CRM), Manymoon (CRM), MixerLab (Twitter) and ZipZapPlay (ERTS). Erik holds a BS from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Duke University.
Cameron Rasouli is the Founder at CoLoft. She is an entrepreneur that thrives in creative and inspirational environments. Cameron believes that community is an integral part of success, and is focused on helping others realize it’s value. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from California State University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Marketing from Loyola Marymount University. Cameron Founded CoLoft in 2010, a tech based community and wok space focused on empowering startups.
Jeff Solomon is the Co-Founder & Executive Director at Amplify.la. He graduated from Arizona State University in 1996 with a BA in English and got is career started in plastics. He then moved on to building things with software, which he has been focused on for the last 15 years. In 1998 he started Leads360, a SaaS provider of lead management software. In late 2011 Jeff exited day-to-day operations at Leads360 and started Amplify.la, a startup accelerator and multi-faceted entrepreneurial campus in Los Angeles.
